About Christine

Thank you for your interest and taking the time to review my credentials.

I have 10 years of public school science teaching in Lompoc Unified School District. I have taught the following subjects:

  • biology (honors & general and AP)

  • chemistry (general)

  • physics (honors & general)

But before I was a teacher, I worked for 10 years in the biotechnology industry as a lab technician and in outside sales in the San Francisco Bay Area. So I have applied science knowledge and experience that enhances what I can offer my students.

My academic training began in the Santa Ynez Valley when I graduated from Dunn School, went to Mills College to earn my B.A. in Biology and then to Arizona State University to earn my Ph.D. in Plant Biology. After four years in my Ph.D. program, I finished with my Masters Degree and went back to the Bay Area to work in biotech. I learned that academic research was not for me because I loved teaching people about science and interacting with them more than actually doing the lab science.

Besides science, I have spent many years in the equestrian communities of Pony Club, eventing and dressage which led me back to Santa Ynez, CA where I grew up. I have raised two sons and many animals on our family ranch. I look forward to getting to help your children succeed academically and beyond.
